We had a bit of a problem with the template system and the site looked a bit strange for a while. But don\'t worry its all working again! We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this fault.

Upgrades and Integration

Soon we will be rolling out upgrades to the initial Perspective integrations. If you have had a website developed by us within the last year, you will be subject to one of these upgrades. We will tell you when we are preparing to upgrade and you can either tell us to go ahead or wait till you are ready. None of you content will be touched and the template will be modified to fit around Perspective.

Long time. No post.

As you may have noticed there have not been many blog posts over the last few weeks and that is because we have been very busy developing Perspective. We have now included support for the iPhone and a whole chunk of code had to be rewritten to cope with this. We are aiming to be releasing very soon and we are in the final BETA stages.

Page Editing

I am currently working on the page editing facilities in Perspective and I must say that they are developing rather well. We decided to use TinyMCE as the main interface for the system as it has brilliant HTML interpretation and interfaces straight into our CSS style sheet implementation. Also I have sorted out the issue with escape characters in our blog posts and news by using a simple stripslashes(); command in PHP.

In a couple of weeks we will be releasing Perspective v1.0 which we are now naming Alpaca. Yes, we are really naming it after a relative of a llama (we are so sad some times).

Clocks, calendars and more clocks

As you may have noticed there is a new addition to the header bar (above). Yes, its a date notifier! This was just a little project that I wanted to try out, as I had some spare time. It all runs on the "date" command in PHP; fetching the current day and month and including a picture that coordinates with it. I have extended this idea and created a clock in a similar style - it can be seen at: http://xrl.us/kj5nf. You are welcome to contact me with your comments via the "Contact Us" page.

Animal Farm

I have been drafted in to help with the projections for Animal Farm. For those of you who don't know about it, it is a play based on the book by George Orwell. It covers the Soviet era in Russia under Stalin and how the peasants rose up in protest. Animal Farm takes it a bit differently and portrays it as life on a farm.

Anyway, I am having to manufacture projections for two projectors which include a mocked up news broadcast and a series of rules on a blackboard that have to change during the show. I am using Camtwist, a free application for OS X, that allows you to cue and add effects to direct streams; and this plus several other bits of software are piecing together the show.

So I will post the results but until then...
